Our music curriculum is designed to give children the opportunity to:

· Experience different types of music from a variety of genres and cultures.

· Develop their listening skills by learning how to recognise genres, instruments and structures.

· Have the chance to play and perform with different instruments in a variety of contexts both in school and at out of school events.

· Understand the different musical elements and use these to perform, compose and improvise.

 

At Crowcroft park music lessons are taught using a combination of the Charanga scheme for music and instrumental teaching from One Education. Children in years 2, 4, 5 and 6 use Charanga. Year 1 have instrumental lessons from a One Education teacher and in Year 3, the children have the exciting opportunity to learn to play the steel pans.
