Relationship and Health Education Policy Consultation
Monday 30th November 2020
I hope you are well in these difficult and ever-changing times we find ourselves in with COVID -19. As Chair of Governors at Crowcroft Park Primary School, I thought it was important to write to you to update you on our Relationship and Health Education Policy. As you may be aware, the Government have introduced compulsory relationship and health education in primary schools.
At Crowcroft Park, the policy has been reviewed in line with statutory obligations. I believe that it will ensure that our children will receive a consistent approach to relationship and health education. It is designed to ensure that children have an understanding of how to look after themselves and keep themselves and others safe, as well as learning the skills to be tolerant and respectful in a diverse society.
All schools are required to consult with parents when reviewing this policy for relationship and health education. Effective consultation gives the space and time for parents to input and ask questions, share any concerns and allows for governors, along with senior staff to decide the way forward. We will listen to parents’ views and then make a reasonable decision as to how we wish to proceed.
The draft policy is on the website for you to read and any comments should be emailed to email@example.com by 8th January 2021.
